David L. Stegall is Principal Consultant of Insurance Expert Witness, a nationwide, fee- for-service only, insurance expert witness services and consulting practice providing analysis, advice and professional services to commerce, industry and government.
David L. Stegall has more than 40 years of insurance, self-insurance, reinsurance and risk management experience. He has worked as an underwriter, retail agent, wholesale broker, reinsurance intermediary and as an expert witness for insurance defense.
He has underwritten, marketed, developed and sold traditional insurance products as well as implemented self-insured programs for qualified self-insurers; created self insured funds; developed captive insurance companies; created national programs; and placed reinsurance for both standard and alternative programs.
Stegall has worked on accounts with one employee to 10,000 employees.

Stegall has provided over 70 Expert Opinions, been Deposed over 40 times, approved, recognized and testified as an expert in five Trials and one Arbitration Hearing.
Stegall has been Retained as an expert on over 90 forensic case assignments, in over 40 State cases and 40 Federal cases in 35 different districts.
Approximately 60 percent of cases have been for the Defense and 40 percent for the Plaintiffs.
